Gebiz – Hungarian Village
Gebiz, called Macarköy (Hungarian village) by locals is situated around 40 kilometers from the city of Antalya. According to local oral history, Hungarian people settled here in the early 18th century.
The sister village of Gebiz, Csíkszentdomokos placed a ‘Szekler gate’ in memory of the legend of the Hungarians in Gebiz, which still stands on the main square of the village. In the year of 2025, a memorial was placed by the Embassy of Hungary and the Hungarian Cultural Center
