Hotel de Pesth
The “Hotel de Pesth” or “Peste Hotel” was founded in the 1850s by the Hungarian refugee Károly Tóthfalusy. The building served as a meeting place for the Hungarian community in Istanbul during the 19th century. The hotel remained in operation until the early 1900s, after which an additional storey was added and it was converted into the Taksim branch of the Richmond Hotel. On 29 June 2021, an information panel was installed on the building’s façade.
